When I first walked into Bon Mary Hotel, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a four-star property on the 40th and 41st floors of a building in Astana. But you know what? The elevator ride up gives you this incredible anticipation, and once those doors open, the views immediately grab your attention. The lobby feels modern without being cold — there’s something about the way they’ve designed the space that makes you feel like you’re somewhere special, even if you can’t quite put your finger on why.

Being on Dostyk Street puts you right in the heart of things, and I mean that in the best possible way. You’re close enough to walk to the main business district, but far enough from the tourist crowds that you actually feel like you’re experiencing the real Astana. The height of the hotel means you get these sweeping views of the city that change throughout the day — honestly, I found myself just standing by the windows more than I probably should have. Couples seem to really love this spot, and after staying here, I totally get why.

The Room Experience

My room was on the 41st floor, and the first thing that hits you is how the windows frame the cityscape like artwork. The space itself is well-designed — not huge, but everything has its place, and the bed was actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case). The bathroom was modern and clean, though I will say the water pressure could be a bit stronger. What I really appreciated was how quiet it was up there — you’re literally above most of the city noise.

The hotel’s restaurant serves a mix of international and local dishes, and while it’s not going to win any culinary awards, the food is solid and the service is attentive. I actually enjoyed the breakfast more than I expected — they had a good selection, and the coffee was strong enough to get me going.
